The New Mexico Resiliency Alliance, in partnership with the New Mexico MainStreet Program and the McCune Charitable Foundation, announced it will make 11 awards from its Resilient Communities Fund in 2016, including to the Belen MainStreet Partnership for downtown facade improvements.
Awards supply matching funds for community development projects statewide, ranging from downtown façade improvements to entrepreneurial training.
The Resilient Communities Fund is the Alliance’s flagship grant making program, providing project support to locally-driven economic revitalization activities in New Mexico’s rural and underserved communities. Through the fund, the Alliance has awarded more than $125,000 in small grants since 2014. Investments have been matched by over $300,000 in cash and in-kind contributions, technical assistance from the Economic Development Department’s New Mexico MainStreet Program, and thousands of community volunteer hours.
